Meeting Minutes
Sleepy Hollow State Park – Cabin
April 16, 2018

In attendance: Marsha Putnam, President
Chanda Donnan, Secretary
Rosie Johnson, Trustee
Marsha Korroch, Trustee
Todd Ring, Trustee                             Absent:  Pat Brown, Lori Coffin, Val Lau

Meeting called to order at 6:03 p.m. by President Marsha Putnam.

March 26, 2018 minutes were reviewed.  Motion by Rosie Johnson to approve the minutes as presented, support by Marsha Korroch.  Motion carried.

Park updates:
Walk-in Sites – 5 walk-in sites have been established
Signs –

  • Kiosk updating – no estimated cost yet. We need to identify photos for use.
  • Sign Quote – When Marsha contacted Tracy Evans to inquire on having some “Equine Event in Progress” signs made, Tracy offered to donate five metal 24×18 yellow signs from her workplace, MacKellar Associates, Inc.  Motion by Chanda, to accept Tracy’s offer of five donated signs and SHTRA pay the shipping expenses, support by Rosie Johnson.  Motion carried.

Committee Reports:

Membership:
72 current memberships.  Please report your volunteer hours to Todd Ring at the end of each month.

Communications:
Hoping to have the website updated within the next week or two.

Events:
Memorial Day: Potluck scheduled for Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
July 20th event named “Lazy Days of Summer” and will have minimal games/etc.

Workbees:

  • Scott McCullough will check drain tiles in the staging area, Todd offered clay tiles if needed.
  • Motion by Rosie Johnson to equip the outhouses with mirrors, solar lighting, and coat hooks, support by Chanda. Motion Carried.

Apparel:           No Update

Unfinished Business:

Eagle Scout Project:  The “Please Sign In” box and log book are complete and ready for use.

Goal Project w Stocked Materials: 1) new tile in East side of staging area 2) equine obstacle course

Wayne Mears Money Collection:  Discussion on whether we purchase a bench or have a plate put on a picnic table placed on the island.  No action taken.

New Business:

“Slippery When Wet” and “No Carts on Island – Trails Too Narrow” signs to be posted by the bridge – Rosie will make them and the park can laminate.

Motion by Rosie Johnson to adjourn the meeting, support from Todd Ring.  Motion carried.  Adjournment: 7:19 p.m.
