TRAIL MAINTENANCE

Maintaining the horse trails are a constant work-in-process. We really could use your help. If any of these projects interest you, please come out and lend a hand.

  • Installation of gravel cradles in muddy areas.
  • Trim back overgrown brush.
  • Clearing the trail of debris.

At the work bees we do anything from cleaning manure, filling gravel, installing posts, cutting branches and brush, to restoring and developing trails. We need your help with Kubota’s, bobcats, shovels and garden rakes.  ATV’s are needed to get out to the thorny areas. Handy tools will be saws, pruners/nippers and thick gloves. A Lunch Lady is needed to help make worker’s lunch sandwiches.  Volunteers with over 4 hours of work earn one overnight camping fee. Participation is voluntary. If you bring your own equipment like tractors, bobcats, etc. or materials, a portion or all of your expenses are tax deductible from your income tax because we are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Ask your tax specialist for advice.

Spring Clean Up

When the trails are too muddy to work on,  we’ll work in the staging area picking up winter debris and getting the grounds ready for spring riding season.
