Yes the trails are open! Come out and ride!

All events will be held at the Equestrian Staging Area.  Just follow the signs from the park entrance.  Not a SHTRA member? Join up over the weekend. Membership forms are available at the Pavilion. This will be your only chance to camp at Sleepy Hollow with your horse.  Come ride with us!

The West Loop is now closed including the Multi-Use Trail to the Island. Pipeline construction has made crossing the construction zone dangerous. If you ride at Sleepy Hollow, only the East Loop is accessible. Please call the Park Office for the latest information. 517-651-6217

Sleepy Hollow requires a State Passport permit for entry or purchase Day Pass at the entrance gate.

Heads up, riders!! The Legend Trail Run will be held at Sleepy Hollow on Saturday, August 3rd. The run will feature 5-mile, 10-mile, and 13.1-mile races. The race course WILL intersect the horse trail.  SHSP expects 800 – 1,000 participants. Use caution IF you choose to ride at Sleepy.

Michigan Geocaching

Heads up, riders!! The Michigan Geocaching will host its annual Camp MiGO VI at Sleepy Hollow on Saturday, August 17th. Greater foot and bike traffic will be present on the Multi-Use trail and at trail intersections. People will wander in the woods looking for caches, especially along the Multi-Use Trail and the Island Trail.

 

Labor Day Weekend Camp Over

August 30 - September 2

Avoid the holiday weekend traffic and enjoy a relaxing weekend camping with your horse.Friday: Register your campsite 5-7pm,  Saturday: Golden Horseshoe Poker Run, Potluck 6pm with Hot Dogs and Sloppy Joes, and group campfire. Sunday: Root Beer floats 3-5pm, SHTRA Apparel Sales, and group campfire.

Camping in the Horseman’s Staging Area is $20/night.

Come, and explore an area of the park you have never seen before. We’ll have special access to ride certain hiking trails that are usually closed to equestrians, a phantom poker ride, potluck, and group campfire.
