SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

All events, except the Annual Meeting, are held at the Equestrian Staging Area. Just follow the signs from the park entrance.  You don’t have to be a member to come to any special event weekend camp over.  Everyone is welcome.  This will be your only chance to camp at Sleepy Hollow with your horse.  Please join us!

Annual Membership Meeting

February 2 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Bring your family, friends or guests for an afternoon of food, potluck at sleepy hollow annual meetingfellowship, and fun. Set up is 11am. Danny and friends will be singing at noon so bring your favorite trail riding tunes. Potluck dinner at 1pm with the auction following. We will have a short business meeting to recap 2018 and then elect board members. This year we will have game time after the auction for anyone who wishes to stay so bring your favorite board games.
The apparel table will be open.
Bring a dish to pass and a horse related item for the auction. Table service, coffee, and water will be provided. Be sure to sign up for the door prize when you arrive.

Spring Work Bee #1

Clean up winter trail debris, the staging area and the remains of the brush hogging done last summer.

Everyone did such a great job on the first Work Bee that a second Work Bee was not needed.

Rotten Egg Hunt

This event is for members and their guests. The wee ones and the young at heart will be looking for hidden eggs. All activities are on foot in the staging area.

Memorial Weekend Camp Over with activities

May 24 @ 12:00 pm - May 27 @ 3:00 pm

Join us for a weekend of fun, food, friends and fantastic trail rides. Free youth games. Competitive trail games. Saturday night potluck. Group campfire every night. MHDVA – cart driving will be on the South Loop. Rustic camping available on a first come first served basis $15/night.

SHTRA Lazy Days of Summer Camp Over

July 12 @ 12:00 pm - July 14 @ 3:00 pm

Camping is available all weekend on a first come first served basis, in the Horsemen’s Staging Area. Nothing special going on. Just ride and camp and be lazy. Rustic camping @ $17/night.

Games are $10 per person – $15 for the family – all games all weekend except Heads or Tails.

Labor Day Weekend Camp Over

August 30 @ 12:00 pm - September 2 @ 3:00 pm

Avoid the holiday weekend traffic and enjoy a relaxing weekend camping with your horse. Games, activities, Saturday Potluck dinner and Sunday root beer floats. Includes Dennis Austin Memorial Night (DAMN) Ride so bring your glow sticks and decorate you and your horse. MHDVA – cart driving will be on the South Loop. Rustic camping in the Horseman’s Staging Area @ $17/night.

16th Annual Rangers 4H Club Judged Trail Ride

September 29 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Test your horsemanship skills on the 10 obstacle course set up on the horse trails. Pick one of 6 divisions. Includes lunch. Cash payback. NO overnight camping available. First riders out at 10 am. Contact: Mary Mallory (517)651-6884

3rd Annual Explore the Hollow Weekend Camp Over

October 18 @ 12:00 pm - October 20 @ 3:00 pm

Come, explore an area of the park you have never seen before. We’ll have special access to ride certain hiking trails that are usually closed to equestrians, a unique poker ride, potluck and group campfire.

Because this is a full moon weekend, we’ll have a special ride.
