SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

All events, except the Annual Meeting, are held at the Equestrian Staging Area. Just follow the signs from the park entrance.  You don’t have to be a member to come to any special event weekend camp over.  Everyone is welcome.  This will be your only chance to camp at Sleepy Hollow with your horse.  Please join us!

Spring Work Bee #1

April 18 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Clean up winter trail debris and the staging area. Later work bees will be needed to fix the mud holes on Old Upton Rd, the west loop curve, Scott’s Hill, place a tie-post at trail outhouse and install a new drain across the east staging area.  Rain date for this work bee is April 25th.

Rotten Egg Hunt

April 26 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

This event is for members and their guests. The wee ones and the young at heart will be looking for hidden eggs. All activities are on foot in the staging area.

Memorial Weekend Camp Over with activities

May 22 @ 12:00 pm - May 26 @ 3:00 pm

Join us for a weekend of fun, food, friends and fantastic trail rides. Pirate Ride-search for treasure chests-on Saturday. Free youth games. Competitive trail games. Saturday night potluck. Group campfire every night. MHDVA – cart driving will be on the South Loop. Rustic camping available on a first-come-first-served basis.

SHTRA Lazy Days of Summer Camp Over

July 17 @ 12:00 pm - July 19 @ 3:00 pm

Camping is available all weekend on a first come first served basis, in the Horsemen’s Staging Area. Nothing special going on. Just ride and camp and be lazy. Rustic camping available.

Labor Day Weekend Camp Over

September 4 @ 12:00 pm - September 7 @ 3:00 pm

Avoid the holiday weekend traffic and enjoy a relaxing weekend camping with your horse. Games, activities, Saturday Potluck dinner and Sunday root beer floats. Includes Dennis Austin Memorial Night (DAMN) Ride so bring your glow sticks and decorate you and your horse. MHDVA – cart driving will be on the South Loop. Rustic camping in the Horseman’s Staging Area.

17th Annual Rangers 4H Club Judged Trail Ride

September 27 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Test your horsemanship skills on the 10 obstacle course set up on the horse trails. Pick one of 6 divisions. Includes lunch. Cash payback. NO overnight camping available. First riders out at 10 am. Contact: call or text Mary Mallory (517) 819-8158 between 9am – 7pm

3rd Annual Explore the Hollow Weekend Camp Over

October 16 @ 12:00 pm - October 18 @ 3:00 pm

Come, explore an area of the park you have never seen before. We’ll have special access to ride certain hiking trails that are usually closed to equestrians, a unique poker ride, potluck and group campfire.

Because this is a full moon weekend, we’ll have a special ride.
