DAMN RIDE 2009

The Dennis Austin Memorial Night Ride (DAMN Ride) was always held on a full moon weekend in the summer. The weekend was a perennial favorite with SHTRA members and their guests. Friday, at dusk, a large group of riders would go out and enjoy a moonlight ride on the South Loop. For those that don’t go on the ride, there was a campfire to sit by.

Throughout the weekend there was plenty of fun & games in the Staging Area: poker runs on the trail, a timed ride, and Mexican Train, and other cards/board games under the pavilion…grab an open seat and join in. An ice cream social with homemade ice cream was held in the afternoon. A picnic-style potluck was held in the evening which was then followed by the Annual Silly Stick Horse Race. Chimney log campfire on Saturday night.
